Ruby everywhere

\^^/ and productivity goes down...

Life without mobile data connection is painful, so I've googled out Ruby 1.8.6 for Windows Mobile just to have some fun on those offline/afk times ^^.

It's running great on my brick (HTC TyTN), but still one missing thing for perfection... vim ^_^

(google to get it running... or shortly: PocketConsole, PocketCMD and play!)

We do what we must because we can

I've returned @HOME for few days on late Wednesday evening, just to pick up some papers regarding my bachelors project and stuff.
I know, I _SHOULD_ be attending Web Engineering course next Tuesday, but it's xmas (30oct) and I really need to let some steam out ;]

[wiki:Portal_(video_game)]Portal[/wiki] helped me to waste some time yesterday, but it was very very very short and absolutely easy to win (~2h in first run). Yet, I really had great time! Nice idea, great script.. and I'm really starting to think that GLaDOS is even better villain than SHODAN (ultimate AI from System Shock ^_^).

Too bad that Valve didn't spent more resources in development.. just imagine that you would have your own GLaDOS like narrator \^^/.

BTW, I've created fortune file from GLaDOS's taunts... fortune-mod-glados.tgz

BTW^2, check this 'Still Alive' song from Portal ending credits:

!spoiler warning!

BTW^3, there is no cake111 :,,(

Winter term in Innsbruck

"hello everybody..."

As I already tried to mention before, I'm spending next few months on Usiversity of Innsbruck.

Actually.. I've moved 2 weeks ago, but it was all in such a hurry I couldn't find time (and place) to post some 'goodbye' or 'hello' message in here...
(HINT: don't leave packing on last 4 hours)
(HINT: take care of internet connectivity _before_ you leave)

I'm attending these lectures here (hopefully all in English ^^):

  • Web Engineering - Hell first Informatics course you have to write essays I've ever heard about.. Actually it's pretty fun so far.
  • Programming Mobile Devices - J2ME and 'stuff..
  • Intelligent systems - I've successfully missed the first lecture, so honestly I know nothing about this one :)
  • Vacuum physics
  • Plasma physics group seminar - Don't ask.

... yeah apart from bachelor's thesis and 4 other courses I'm trying to absolve on my home university at the same time. I'd really like to have some time machine.

That's probably all for now...
back to multilayer software switch... ^^`

Yeah and to mention.. I'll be putting photos to my gallery... here. (sry, mobile quality -_-)

This is not WarCraft in space...

Only 3 more hours till gameweek 2007 \^^/
Although this one should be called gameweekend. 4 days of StarCraft are not worth the name 'gameweek'.

can't.. resist... must build more cracklings...

*0sz9sz8sz7sz* /ho~

Just keep it running

Last week in my bofh-like work (#1) was about `portupgrade`-ing, getting stuff out of jammed printers and stuff...

At a time when i spent a pretty much time upgrading my '''m4d freecell skillz''', my eye (or feet?) laid on some forgotten old PC under the desk. I was too lazy to find someone with keys to storage room so I've decided make some backup server from it and keep it lying under the desk for future generations
*hh, owner will be pretty surprised when he finds out his machine is running OpenBSD*

Old AT PSU was dead so I switched it with some ATX one lying nearby (luckily mobo was AT/ATX combo).

Main problem arised when I tried to boot it up. Mobo didn't had (or at least I wasn't able to find it) any 'soft power-up' pins on it. *sigh* But solution came just few moments after.

Whenever you need to run ATX PSU without motherboard, short-circuit green cable with any of the black ones (ground).

keep-it-running

I'm not sure of any side-effects of this, but machine already has uptime of few days.

BTW: you could also try use this solution to keep some older ATX systems without 'boot up after power loss' setting in BIOS running all the time. let me know if u've tried this one ^^

BTW^2: I'm not responsible for any damage caused to you and/or your property. ^^`

My own casino

"Hello everybody..." o/

So this is it, my first blog post.. and it didn't take me so long, just like 2 years or so.

Just shy (not anti-social), c_positive_positive, sushi eating, red dwarf addicted, vi (ab)using, starcraft-playing, freebsd-powered geek , with tendencies to do things his own (more complicated ^^`) way; that spent too much time watching anime, playing Igo, RPGs, and learning 日本語 (Japanese) and RFC-s.

'nuff said, let's "blog"111

Yeah and one last thing: PLZPLZ, excuse my engrish ^^
